Hafen 55

We were able to spend several hours in Hafen55 over the last two days (boat in the workshop) and were able to get a comprehensive idea of the location and the service of this restaurant. In general, the restaurant is beautifully located and has an original and inviting concept. Beer benches, hammocks, beach chairs, normal seating and half boats invite you to linger. Even a living room leather suite or seating made from Euro pallets is not missing here. The food was good, the price-performance ratio can be debated. We found it a bit expensive...The pricing would still be acceptable if service was offered on site. Complete self-service applies here, including the return of dishes and glasses. However, what makes me clearly deduct points is the cleanliness and the condition of the various seating options. A lot of things look thrown together, weathered and unkempt. The original boat halves are heavily rusted, the pallet furniture appears to have been repaired and put together several times. In the many hours of our stay, the tables were not wiped once or used ashtrays were exchanged for fresh ones. Although the sun was still shining brightly, the umbrellas at *all* tables were folded up around 5 p.m. and we were left to sit in the heat. There was no response to protests regarding this matter. CONCLUSION: A generally nice place that would look really inviting if more attention was paid to the cleanliness and maintenance of the equipment. Because, as we all know, the eye eats too!! Likewise, even with general self-service, a guest would be happy about a little attention and care (table hygiene)...
